ASK Investment Managers' (ASKIM) investment philosophy revolves around two key aspects: capital protection (by avoiding any investment which has a risk of permanent loss of capital) and generate positive, absolute returns.
ASKIM's endeavor at all times would be to preserve and then grow the portfolio. In so doing, it may or may not get all the peaks of the market but will always endeavor to avoid the troughs. The aim is not necessarily to outperform a rapidly rising market, but certainly aim to do so in a falling market such that for both the rising and falling periods combined together, it achieve two objectives: market out performance and superior, positive returns.
ASKIM's value proposition is to deliver superior (rather than the highest) returns over time, in a consistent, risk-controlled manner. It seeks to achieve this by constructing a well-defined, focused portfolio of not more
than 20, but more typically 15, stocks representing quality businesses enjoying sustainable competitive advantage. While doing so, adhering to the discipline of buying and selling at well-defined price points, based on the underlying fair value computation, is very important.
