The investment objective of the Portfolio is to achieve high total return by maximizing current income and, to the extent consistent with that objective, capital appreciation. The Portfolio will pursue this objective by investing primarily in a diversified mix of high yield, below investment grade fixed income securities involving greater volatility of price and risk of principal and income than higher quality fixed-income securities
