Atlantis Investment Management was founded in London during 1994. It is an independent company, owned by the managers, clearly focused on investment management in the Asian region. Atlantis Investment Management is regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Given our expertise in long only Asian equity investment management, Atlantis is ideally placed to manage clients' assets in these specialised stock markets. Atlantis opened its Tokyo office in 1996. We have since opened offices in Hong Kong, Mumbai and Seoul, giving us the regional presence necessary to generate superior returns for our clients.

Investment Strategy

Fundamental

We believe in fundamental analysis as a prerequisite for superior returns over the medium term. This means visiting companies, primary research, the use of secondary research from selected brokers and the analysis of key ratios in searching for value and growth opportunities.

Bottom-up

By concentrating on reasonably priced growth companies, our portfolio managers are able to buy stocks which are fundamentally undervalued. This provides us with opportunities for positive returns over the medium term in nearly all macro-economic and general market conditions.

Company visits

Our fund managers and analysts visit over 1000 companies each year. Only by visiting companies can a fund manager 'feel' a company's potential, ask the questions of management necessary for superior analysis and consequently pick the stocks to extract maximum value for our clients. This helps the manager to identify tomorrow's winners.

Growth at a reasonable price

We seek out undervalued companies, mis-priced by the market, that offer attractive returns in the medium term given their growth prospects.

Bias towards smaller and medium sized companies

Atlantis focuses predominantly on smaller and mid cap companies. We are able to take advantage of inefficiencies in the smaller markets, identifying mis-pricings that will maximise returns for our investors. If our fund managers find attractive larger stocks they will not hesitate to invest in them. However, larger cap stocks tend to be priced more efficiently and enjoy greater coverage by analysts. Therefore, the opportunity to uncover undervalued companies is significantly greater in smaller and mid-cap stocks.
