Description
Over the past decade, China's GDP growth has consistently surpassed the Western world. With continued urbanization and a growing middle class, China’s growth is estimated to be 2-4 times higher than most major developed economies in the next decade. Financially, China is also one of the best positioned economies in the world today with the highest saving rate and little debt compared to the West. We believe China is still significantly under-weighted in the global index compared to China’s real contribution to global growth.
As of April 2010, FMG China Fund has become a China A-share focused Fund. The Fund will aim to invest 80-100% of its assets in domestic listed China equities (A and B shares listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen).
Strategy
FMG China Fund offers investors a simple and unique access to domestic China markets (A and B share listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen). As of April 2010, FMG China Fund has become a China A-share focused Fund. The Fund will aim to invest 80-100% of its assets in domestic listed China equities using a combination of liquid A-share Funds and segregated accounts. We believe A-share is the future market going forward, and over the next several years, there will be a dramatic shift away from H-share to A-share.
Why do we prefer A-Share rather than H-Share and other oversea listed Chinese stocks: A-share markets have more diversified industry groups and stocks. Many of these companies will deliver superior cash flow than their peers listed oversea. A-share markets’ premium to H-share has been shrinking, and valuation today is near historical low.
