The Fund's objective is to achieve superior risk adjusted returns without relying on the long term direction of the global securities markets. Target returns are in the range of 8 - 12% per annum. The Fund is a "fund of funds" which gains exposure to the asset classes by investing in specialised funds managed by external investment managers. The underlying funds use a wide variety of hedge strategies, including multi-arbitrage, fixed income arbitrage, systematic trading, macro trading and equity market neutral, and invest in global fixed income, currency, equity and commodity markets. Both leverage and derivative instuments may be used by external managers to hedge risk and enhance returns. the Fund is actively managed and takes a US Dollar currency perspective.
