Offshore Savings Plans

Fixed term or open-ended?

When investing in a regular savings plan, you generally have two choices, a fixed term plan or an open-ended version. The standard fixed term plan has restrictions and mandatory contribution periods of up to 3 years but also offers loyalty bonuses and additional allocations that will partly offset the higher initial charges. More explanation We have negotiated as much of these costs out as we can to provide truly enhanced terms with more flexibility whilst retaining the loyalty bonuses and additional allocations as well.

You should still only invest in a fixed term plan provided you are absolutely sure that the level of contribution is sustainable throughout the entire term of the plan.

If the amount you wish to invest is not sustainable for a fixed period of time then you should opt for the open-ended version which will allow you to be completely flexible in your contributions without any sort of financial penalty at all. The standard versions of these plans rarely include any sort of loyalty bonus or additional allocation. The choice is yours but we are happy to discuss individual cases if you are confused.

If the product you have been recommended is not on this list then please contact us so we can explain why it is not recommended by us.
